We are absolutely delighted to share some wonderful news from the vineyard: Tuffon Hall has been named Barn Wedding Venue of the Year 2026 at the Essex Wedding Awards.
UPDATE
Monday 24th November: We have also collected Highly Commended in the same category at The National Wedding Awards for the East of England.
For a venue that only opened its doors to weddings five years ago, these accolades mark a truly special milestone for our family and for everyone who has helped shape the experience we offer here on the farm.
A modern venue with deep roots
Our 400-year-old threshing barn sits at the heart of Tuffon Hall. What began as a bold restoration project — sympathetically transforming a historic agricultural building into a contemporary celebration space — has grown into a place where couples feel instantly at home.
Being both a working vineyard and a wedding venue means we offer something rather rare in our corner of Essex: the chance to marry among the vines and celebrate with wines borne here on the estate. It’s an experience that feels deeply connected to the land, and one we are incredibly proud to share.

A venue that values quality over quantity
We host no more than 28 weddings a year, offering exclusive use of the venue and on-site accommodation. This smaller calendar is intentional — it allows us to give each celebration the time, care, and attention it deserves while keeping in harmony with the rhythm of our wider working farm.
As we often say, we’re not a wedding-a-week venue — and we believe that’s part of what makes celebrations here feel so personal and unhurried.
The Engine Room
Our weddings are led day-to-day by our brilliant Wedding & Events Manager, Sarah Wells, supported by co-founder Pod Crowther — both working at the heart of the Tuffon Hall “Engine Room” (not forgetting Kate, our Accommodation Manager, and Steve, Head of Wine Sales!).
“We are absolutely thrilled,” says Pod. “We are proud to be custodians of this farm, and restoring the barn into a modern celebration space feels like an important chapter in the Tuffon Hall story. This award is a reflection of the work we put into every occasion.”
